Christmas at High Places Church
November 28th will be an awesome day for High Places family and friends. The day will begin with a general cleaning at 2:00 PM, and then decorating the lobby for Christmas will follow. At 5:00 PM, High Places choir will be practicing for the Christmas program and for caroling. Santa Claus will make a grand appearance at his little cottage at the Grove Center at 6:30 PM. The choir will be leading the caroling as Santa arrives amidst the lighting of the Grove Center. Santa will be available to hear your Christmas list and maybe even get a picture. At 7:00 PM in The Grove Theater the Ciderville Home and Farm Variety Show will begin. Local musicians will be performing and the show will be broadcast live by BBB. This is a fundraiser for the Holiday Bureau and they will be taking donations.
November 29th is our annual "Tired of Turkey" pot luck dinner following our service which will begin at our normal time of 10:30 AM. The idea is pot luck but without turkey unless you can disguise it to look like something else (we're not strict on this point because some of us love turkey). Come join us for a real treat.
On December 12th, High Places will again be participating in the Oak Ridge Christmas Parade. The parade begins at 7PM and line up will be in the Oak Ridge High School parking lot so hope to see you there. Decorating time for the float will be announced later.
December 13th at 10:30 AM, we will be joining together to celebrate Christmas. Our annual Christmas program will be an incredible service recounting the amazing story of Jesus' birth, with the adult choir and High Places children participating. Bring your favorite Christmas snack to share after the service.
Family ice skating in Market Square will be the afternoon of December 13th continuing our Second Sundays of fun.
The holiday season is filled with so many wonderful things to participate in and enjoy. We hope these opportunities give you and your family a place to celebrate the season along with High Places family and friends.
